What Happens After You’ve Received Prayer?
For many people who struggle with an illness or disease, whether it's a recent diagnosis or a long-standing condition, the main goal for healing is the relief from symptoms and a desire to live unencumbered by health burdens. You may have talked with a friend about their own healing, or perhaps you stumbled across a healing video online, which then prompted you to reach out and request a prayer for healing from God.
This page was designed to offer guidance as you continue your journey with God "after prayer." We're grateful that you've turned to Jesus Christ as the solution to your needs; He loves you immensely and remains your ever-present help in time of need.
So What Happens Next?
THANKING JESUS
Take a moment to pause and breathe deeply and embrace your healing. Let go of any preconceived notions about what you thought God would do, and simply rest in Him and believe you have been healed. As you pause and breathe, offer up this prayer: "Lord Jesus, thank you for my healing." As each day unfolds, this will continue to be your prayer. And if you’ve experienced a day without symptoms, we pray that it will extend to a week, a week to a month and a month into years, allowing you to live freely from your health condition.
TRUSTING JESUS
Sometimes, we witness instant and miraculous healings. For instance, in Matthew 8:1-4, a leper was instantly healed by Jesus's touch. In Matthew 8:5-13, a servant was healed instantly by Jesus’s word. And in Luke 8:54 a young girl was raised from the dead, simply as Jesus took her by the hand and told her to ‘get up’.
Other times in the bible, we see healing unfold gradually through continued prayer, faith, or taking action prompted by faith. In John 9:6, the blind man was able to see, after Jesus asked him to ‘go (and) wash in the Pool of Siloam’. When he did this, the bible says that he went home seeing.
Each person is unique, known, and loved by God. Jeremiah 29:11 says that ‘He has plans for you, plans to prosper and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future’. Some translations say he has plans for your ‘welfare’ or your ‘well-being’. He wants you healed and restored. Your path to healing will be unique to you, and will require you to keep trusting in God's timing.
Not a Formula, But a Relationship
The key to your healing lies in your relationship with Jesus. If you haven't accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, we urge you to reach out to us for guidance on connecting with a local pastor or Christian church who can talk to you about the Good News of the Gospel.
Understand that you are ‘seeking the Healer, not just the healing’. It is your goal to get to know the God who offers abundant life through the counsel, comfort, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. By prioritizing our relationship with the Lord and seeking His plan for our lives, through prayer, studying God's Word, the abundant life Jesus promises becomes available to us. Rather than following a formula for healing, our foremost desire should be a relationship with our Creator.
We encourage you to persist in faith, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers in your local christian church who can support you on your journey. If you're not yet connected to a local christian church, reach out to us for assistance in finding one.
We maintain our faith that you are healed in Jesus's name. We continue to pray for your restoration from symptoms and deliverance from afflictions.
